Short Tentacle Plate Coral
Scientific Name: Fungia repanda
Care: Moderate
Temperament: semi-aggressive
Water Flow: low to medium
Light: moderate
Placement: Bottom
Water Parameters: dKH 8-12, PH 8.1-8.4, Salinity 1.023-1.026
Family: Fungiidae
The Short Tentacle Plate Coral is a large polyp stony (LPS) coral is also known as the Disk, Mushroom, Chinaman, Fungia Plate, or Tongue Coral. It comes in a variety of colors, some very bright. It is a solitary, semi-aggressive coral with shorter tentacles than its cousin the Long Tentacle Plate Coral (Heliofungia sp.). Even with short tentacles, it can still damage other corals that it comes in contact with. With placement in the aquarium, keep in mind that it will often inflate itself with water and expand to twice its size. It will do best on the bottom of a reef aquarium, preferably lying on a fine sandy substrate. The Short Tentacle Plate Coral is easy to maintain in the reef aquarium and makes an excellent candidate for the beginner reef aquarist. Care should be taken in handling it however, to prevent damage. It requires moderate lighting combined with moderate water movement within the aquarium
Finger Leather Coral
Scientific Name: Sinularia spp
Care: Moderate
Temperament: semi-aggressive
Water Flow: Strong to medium
Light: moderate
Placement: All
Water Parameters: dKH 8-12, PH 8.1-8.4, Salinity 1.023-1.026
Family: Alcyoniidae
The Finger Leather Coral is referred to as Sinularia Coral, Finger Leather, or Trough Corals. They are found in various shades of brown, with white or gold polyps. The Finger Leather Corals are relatively peaceful, but adequate space should be provided between them and other corals in the reef aquarium. Some can produce toxins that are harmful to other reef inhabitants. The symbiotic algae zooxanthellae hosted within its body provides the majority of its nutritional needs from the light driven process of photosynthesis. It will also benefit from additional food such as micro-plankton, baby brine shrimp, or foods designed for filter feeding invertebrates.
Red Mushrooms Coral
Scientific Name: Actinodiscus sp.
Care: Moderate
Temperament: semi-aggressive
Water Flow: medium to low
Light: moderate
Placement: All
Water Parameters: dKH 8-12, PH 8.1-8.4, Salinity 1.023-1.026
Family: Actinodiscidae/Discosomatidae
The Actinodiscus Mushrooms are also referred to as Mushroom Anemones and Disc Anemones. They were previously in a genus called Discosoma. These invertebrates display a wide variety of colors, textures, and patterns. Some are solid colors, whereas, others are striped or spotted. The red specimens can vary from a light pinkish purple to a vivid red. They are hardy and moderately easy to maintain. In general, they need a medium light level, and should be placed lower in the aquarium if the light intensity is high.
Green Striped Mushroom Coral
Scientific Name: Actinodiscus sp.
Care: Easy
Temperament: semi-aggressive
Water Flow: medium to low
Light: moderate
Placement: All
Water Parameters: dKH 8-12, PH 8.1-8.4, Salinity 1.023-1.026
Family: Actinodiscidae/Discosomatidae
The Actinodiscus Mushrooms are also known as Mushroom Anemones and Disc Anemones. They were previously in a genus called Discosoma. These corals display a wide variety of colors, textures, and patterns. Some are solid colors, whereas, others are striped or spotted. Striped varieties are usually green. They are hardy and relatively easy to maintain, and under the right conditions, will multiply and spread very rapidly.
Toadstool Leather Coral
Scientific Name: Sarcophyton sp.

The Toadstool Mushroom Leather Coral is referred to as Sarcophyton Coral, Mushroom, Leather, or Trough Corals. They are found in various shades of brown, tan or green, with white or gold polyps. The Toadstool Mushroom Leather Corals are relatively peaceful, but adequate space should be provided between them and other corals in the reef aquarium. Some can produce toxins that are harmful to other reef inhabitants. Toadstool Mushroom Leather Corals require medium to high lighting combined with medium to strong water movement.
